General Instructions

Read the following instructions carefully before filling out the SAP application form. No further corrections to data obtained/filled in the SAP 2025 application form will be entertained after submitting the SAP-2025 application form. Please take adequate care of this before submitting the application form.

The admission policy, merit list finalization, and subsequent admission offers are independent at all two IIMs. Based on the candidate’s position in the merit rank and other admission criteria, the provisional admission offer will be shared by respective IIMs.

Note for document upload: Please note that all documents must be uploaded (Size - Maximum 1.5 MB and File formats - .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .pdf), and if there are multiple documents to upload in a particular field, candidates should make a single file including all of those documents to upload in the portal.

Instructions regarding data to be filled and documents to be uploaded in the SAP Application:

  1. Photograph and Signature (Upload the same photograph and signature as uploaded in the CAT Application Form)

  2. Photo Identity Card Document (only govt ID proof such as Aadhar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, and Passport)

  3. CAT 2024 scorecard (upload the pdf that you downloaded from the CAT website)

  4. 10th and 12th/Diploma (upload the mark sheet and certificate)
    1. a)   For computing the percentage of marks obtained in the SSC/10th/Equivalent examination and HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma examination, the total marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet should be considered for the overall percentage calculation, irrespective of the respective board’s regulation (specified in CAT 2024 application as well).
    2. b)   Maximum Marks (inclusive of all subjects) indicate the summation of maximum marks of all subjects (including electives, if any). For example, if there are five subjects with 100 marks assigned to each subject, the candidate should populate the ‘Maximum Marks (inclusive of all subjects)’ placeholder as 500. Total marks obtained (inclusive of all subjects) indicate the summation of actual marks obtained by the candidate in all subjects (including electives, if any). For example, if the candidate has obtained 450 marks by adding individual marks obtained in the five subjects, the candidate should populate the ‘Total marks obtained (inclusive of all subjects)’ placeholder as 450.
    3. c)  The Aggregate Percentage should be entered as an accurate value, rounded down to 2 decimals.

Example A: If Maximum Marks = 600. Total Marks Obtained = 421, then Aggregate Percentage = 70.16666. This needs to be rounded down to 70.16.

Example B: If Maximum Marks = 600. Total Marks Obtained = 416, then Aggregate Percentage = 69.33333. This needs to be rounded down to 69.33.

  5. Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree:

    Required Documents:
    • Graduation Marksheet of all semesters/years.
    • Degree Certificate is required for those who have graduated before 2024.
    • A Provisional Degree Certificate is required for those who have completed graduation in 2024 but have not received the degree certificate.
    • Those in the final year of graduation should upload the bonafide certificate in the format available under the Download section, which will be obtained from the competent authority.
    • Any other degree/certificate/marksheet - Master/Professional Qualification as mentioned in the CAT 2024 form.
Details for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees:
    1. a)   If you have a Dual/Integrated degree with both a Bachelor's and a Master's (BTech + MTech or BTech + MSc), enter the appropriate details separately in the Bachelor's and Master's degree sections. In case of no such clear demarcation of Bachelor’s and Master’s components in the integrated degree provided by the Institute/College/University, you may choose the appropriate logical bifurcation of the integrated degree between Bachelor’s and Master’s components as they deem fit and the same may be entered in the SAP application form accordingly.
    2. b)   For graduates and postgraduates, the aggregate percentage of marks awarded by the Institute/University will be treated as final. Suppose the Institute/University does not award the aggregate percentage of marks. In that case, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet, including all years/semesters.
    3. c)   The completion date of the bachelor's degree should be the date as printed on the marksheet (either the result declaration date or marksheet issue date, whichever is available) or the provisional/passing/degree certificate. In the case of any degree where there are internships after the final examination, the date of provisional/passing/degree certificate would be considered the date of completion.
    4. d)   If any university follows the semester system, you may provide the consolidated marks year-wise or separate marks semester-wise as per available mark sheets. If any university follows the trimester system, you must give the consolidated marks year-wise.
    5. e)   If any Institute/University awards only letter grades or CGPA without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Institute/University specifying the equivalent marks or the conversion procedure and the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on this procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution.
    6. f)   If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result by 100.
    7. g)   If you are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, kindly enter the aggregate percentage of marks obtained for the years/semesters of the degree course completed to date.

  6. Professional Degree:

Please select the professional degree/s you have obtained from the list of professional degrees, such as CA, ICWA, CS, etc.

    1. a)   If you have a Professional Degree with a Bachelor’s Degree, you may have any of the degrees as qualifying criteria for providing work experience. The starting date of work experience can be selected after the earliest completion of either of these two degrees.
    2. b)   In the case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution. If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result by 100.

  7. Work Experience (If any):

Work experience will only be counted after the completion of a bachelor's (UG) degree. Since work experience is linked with the completion of a bachelor's (UG) degree, candidates with more than one bachelor’s degree must carefully select the primary bachelor's (UG) degree. The starting date of the work experience date can’t be before the completion of the primary bachelor (UG) degree.

Only Full-time remunerative experience after graduation must be entered. Part-time/ Project/ Internship/ training/ apprenticeship/ Article-ship / Pre-graduation work experience must not be entered and will not be counted as work experience. Candidates must not enter any experience obtained as part of the eligibility degree (bachelor’s degree or professional degree as applicable).

Experience, as an employee, earned without salary or with cash salary will not be considered.

Work-experience data till 31st January 2025 will be considered for SAP 2025 and further admission processes. Therefore, kindly fill in the related data and upload the documents in the SAP 2025 portal accordingly.
